 Library Rules

  1. Bags and other belongings including personal books are not allowed to carry inside the library. You have to keep your belongings in the Property Counter.
  2. Upon entry, all individuals are required to sign the Attendance Register, clearly providing their name and other details.
  3. Silence must be strictly maintained within the library premises at all times.
  4. Keep your Mobile Phone in Silent/ Switch off Mode.
  5. To borrow books, students must first obtain library membership by submitting a photocopy of their identity card along with a duly filled Library Membership Form.
  6. Students in the 1st and 2nd semesters are permitted to borrow up to two textbooks at a time. Students in all other semesters may borrow up to three textbooks simultaneously.
  7. All issued books must be returned within three months.
  8. An overdue Fine will be charged due to delay in return of borrowed book Rs.2.00 per book per day.
  9. Only textbooks can be issued. Reference books, journals, magazines, dictionaries, encyclopaedias etc. will have to be read in the Library only as they cannot be issued.
  10. Borrowed books mutilated, damaged or lost, will have to be replaced by the borrower.
  11. The members are not allowed to bring their personal books or any printed material (spiral/bound book/photocopied material) inside the Library.
  12. Do not underlines, fold, mark, scratch, damage, mutilate, or steal library materials or property. Anyone who does so will face disciplinary action.
  13. Users are not allowed to misplace of books in the shelf.
  14. Desktops and fans have to be switched off after use.
  15. Additionally, students belonging to the STP and SC categories are entitled to borrow one extra textbook, provided under the Book Bank Scheme by the Directorate of WPT & BC, Assam.
  16. Library membership will be cancelled upon the completion of the student's course.
  17. Users are under CCTV Surveillance inside the library, so, user should maintain their decorum.
  18. All regular and permanent faculty members are eligible to borrow up to 10 books at a time for a period of six months.
  19. Part-time faculty members may also borrow books by depositing a security amount of Rs. 1,000. This amount will be refunded upon the completion or termination of their service at the institute, subject to the return of all borrowed materials.
