Physical Infrastructures & Collections

The PCPS Girls’ Polytechnic library is well furnished with bookshelves, reading tables, and chairs, providing an academic-friendly environment for users to enhance their intellectual pursuits. The library has a seating capacity of approximately 63 users at a time. The library is fully automated with the Library Management Software SOUL 3.0. It operates with one server and two client systems. Circulation activities are carried out using Barcode Technology. The library possesses an impressive collection of 13651 numbers of books, over 500 (approx.) reference books, journals, newspapers, magazines, serials and bound volumes. In addition, the library provides access to a vast collection of e-journals, e-books. The Library is equipped with CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety and security of its resources. To facilitate the use of electronic resources, the library has a separate e-resource section with 12 desktop computers connected to the internet. Free Wi-Fi facility is also provided to all users. Furthermore, the library conducts a User Orientation Programme at the beginning of every academic session, particularly for newly admitted students, to familiarize them with the library’s resources, services, and facilities.
